How to manage Facebook notifications
While it is easy for few to opt out of Facebook and completely delete their account, many cannot. It could be because of their personal choice or professional needs. Once you’re on Facebook then you have to deal with Facebook notifications. Though it is an important tool to stay updated, there are times when Facebook floods your device — mobile or desktop — with unwanted notifications.

Luckily, there are few methods through which you can control notifications that Facebook sends you. You can also mute these notifications for a period of time. Here is a step-by-step guide

For iPhones

1.

Open Facebook app on your device and tap on More icon at the bottom-right corner (this is the three lines arranged vertically).

2.

Scroll down and look for ‘Settings & Privacy’. Tap on it.

3.

In the drop-down menu, go to ‘Settings’ section.

4.

In the Settings section, scroll down and come to ‘Notifications settings’.

There you will find three options – ‘Manage push notifications’ and ‘What notifications you receive’ and ‘Where you receive notifications’.

5.

If you want to mute notifications for some time, say 15 minutes or 1 hours, tap on ‘Mute push notifications’. You can mute it for 15 minutes, 1 hours, 2 hours, 4 hours and 8 hours.

6.

If you want to control what notifications Facebook sends, you can manage it from ‘ What notifications you receive’ section. From here, you can choose if you want to receive notification for comments, tags, birthday reminders, updates from friends and more.

7.

Facebook sends you notifications on three different platforms- SMS, Email and Push notifications. You can also control these from the ‘Where you receive notifications’.
