Rishabh Pant shared a fragment of his personal life with his fans after he posted a photograph of his with his girlfriend Isha Negi on social media. Pant, who is currently on a break at home after a hectic Test series in Australia, made his relationship known.
Pant captioned the photo as “I just want to make you happy because you are the reason I am so happy .”
Suresh Raina was quick to react to the photo with a set of emoticons ranging from approval to happy to laughing.
Isha also shared the same photo on her Instagram and captioned it, “My man, my soulmate, my best friend, the love of my life.”
Rishabh Pant was undoubtedly the cricketer who was the centre of attention and dominated headlines in India and Australia throughout the Border-Gavaskar series.
Pant was all over Australia with his banter from behind the stumps but he also let his gloves and bat do the talking for him.
The 21-year-old broke the record for the most catches by an Indian wicketkeeper in a Test series with 20 catches in the four Tests.
Apart from his improved showing with the gloves, Pant also chipped in with some crucial runs for India and ended up as the second highest run-scorer in the series from either side, behind Cheteshwar Pujara (521), amassing 350 runs at an average of over 58 with 159 not out being his highest score which he managed in the final Test.
His second Test century during the Sydney match saw him become the first Indian wicketkeeper to score a hundred in Australia. He is now only one of four Indian wicketkeepers – Budhi Kunderan, Nayan Mongia and MS Dhoni – with a 150-plus score in Test cricket.
21-year-old Rishabh Pant did not find a place in the Indian ODI and T20I squads for the ongoing limited-over series in Australia and the upcoming series in New Zealand, starting January 23. Pant will be part of India A squad that will be taking on England Lions in a five-match unofficial ODI series, starting January 23 in Thiruvananthapuram.
While eyebrows were raised at his exclusion from the limited-over squads especially after Pant surpassed captain Virat Kohli’s tally in the four-match Test series in Australia, head coach Ravi Shastri and chief selector MSK Prasad had told India Today that Pant would definitely be part of India’s World Cup plans.
